This is arguably the most important of our mixes for photoperiod plants: Grow provides your substrate with all the macro and micro nutrients and trace elements that your plant will use through the vegetative stage and beyond. When added to a good, light compost mix, the unique blend of natural ingredients used will help you cultivate vigorous, healthy and organic plants.
In this blend we have added 18 different species of mycorrhizal fungi to assist with reaching and processing all available nutrients in your substrate. We've also added powdered volcanic rockdust (which contains two thirds of all non-synthetic minerals known to man) to provide heaps of essential trace elements.
Grow will assist your plant throughout the vegetative stage, ensuring it develops rapidly and without deficiency. For maximum nitrogen we include loads of insect frass, blood meal and alfalfa meal as well as EM1 infused bokashi bran to further encourage microbial life.
Using Grow from the beginning of the vegetative stage will maximise yield and improve aroma and taste of your plants' flowers whilst ensuring the requirements for additional fertilisers are dramatically reduced.
The addition of our products for the flowering stage - ‘Bloom’ and ‘Bloom2’ (or Reaper if you would prefer an all-in-one top dressing) and a few Wormcasts - should be all the nutrition your photoperiod plant requires from seedling to harvest
If you want to ensure you have all necessary minerals & trace elements in your substrate we also recommend adding Rockdust to your initial mix as this contains Azomite and volcanic rockdust. Further, to provide you with additional organic matter in your mix, why not try our Moist Mulch - its pre-fermented so breaks down really fast to become valuable humus. It's wonderful stuff!
Key ingredients
EM1 infused bokashi bran, Volcanic rockdust, Mycorrhizal fungi, Soybean meal, Alfalfa meal, Mealworm & black soldier fly frass, Wheat bran.
How to use it & dosage
Initial mix:
Mix 3-5 ml per litre of soil (or 1 tablespoon/ gallon) (double this for coco) - ideally 2 weeks before planting. If already planted up, incorporate it as a top dressing: add it to the top of your growing medium and water in well after application. This will provide enough nutrients for 3 to 4 weeks of vegetative growth.
For an indicative feeding chart showing how to use this product using a 20L pot, see our feeding page.
[If you don't want to/ have the time to wait for the balancing out period, you could instead use our Pre-Mixed Living Soil that's been specifically developed for the veg stage.]
After planting:
Soil: 2-4 ml of Grow per litre of soil (up to 1 tbsp per gallon) every 2 weeks through the vegetative stage. Coco: Double the soil quantity and if possible add a generous dose of Wormcasts to boost humus levels and add MycoBoost for additional cal mag.
[Please note: unfortunately our 5L bags are the only items in our range that are not compostable: we cannot find a compostable bag that is big enough - as soon as we can, we will use it].
