Alfalfa Meal

Our alfalfa meal is certified organic by the Soil Association and is always freshly milled to order from pellets: we choose a fine setting for rapid mineralisation in your substrate. It has an NPK ratio of 2-0.5-2 and can be added in small quantities throughout a plant's lifetime.

Alfalfa qualifies as a ‘complete fertiliser’ as it provides essential nutrients for plants in all stages of growth and development. It has a diverse range of minerals and trace elements and contains a naturally occurring plant growth hormone called triacontanol to stimulate plant growth.

• Phosphorous (P) ……....0.5%
• Potassium (K) ……………2%

Suggested dosage 

• In a substrate mix: Soil: 3-4 ml per litre of substrate (1 tbsp per gallon). Coco: Double the soil quantity.
• Top dressing: Soil: 2-3 ml per litre of substrate every 2 or 3 weeks as the plant requires. Coco: Double the soil quantity.
• Compost tea: 15ml (1 tbsp) mixed with 1L of water, leave for 30 mins, stir and pour on substrate/ sieve and spray on.
